Authorities in the United States averted a potential terror attack after 25-year-old Lukman Khan, a University of Delaware student of Pakistani origin, was arrested in Delaware for allegedly plotting a mass shooting. Police discovered a large cache of weapons in his car, including .357-caliber Glock handguns, extra magazines, a 9mm Glock magazine, a ballistic plate, and a handwritten notebook detailing his attack plan, escape strategies, and the layout of the University of Delaware Police Department. Khan reportedly told investigators that he intended to achieve “martyrdom” through the attack but panicked before carrying it out.

Following his arrest, the FBI conducted a raid at Khan’s Wilmington residence, recovering an AR-style rifle, another Glock pistol fitted with a red-dot scope, and an illegal conversion device capable of making it a fully automatic machine gun capable of firing 1,200 rounds per minute. Additional items seized included 11 more magazines, hollow-point bullets, and a bulletproof vest. Authorities noted that none of the weapons were registered and are investigating whether they were obtained illegally outside the United States.
