Mojtaba Khamenei is known to have assumed responsibilities as Iran’s Supreme Leader following recent developments, but he has not appeared publicly since then. Reports circulating in international media claim that he was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment in a hospital, while some outlets have suggested that he may even be in a coma. The uncertainty surrounding his condition and whereabouts has fueled widespread speculation.
Amid these reports, the United States Department of State has announced a reward of 10 million dollars (over ₹92 crore) for information about Mojtaba Khamenei’s location. In a statement posted on X, the department urged individuals with credible information to come forward and share details through secure channels.
The US State Department also mentioned several other individuals in the announcement, including Ali Asghar Hejazi, deputy chief of the Supreme Leader’s office, and Ali Larijani. According to the statement, these individuals are accused of supporting terrorism globally, and authorities have requested that any information about them be shared through encrypted messaging platforms or the Tor network. The department said those who provide useful intelligence could receive the reward and may also be offered relocation assistance for their safety.
It is known that during the February 28 attacks carried out jointly by the United States and Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed. Following the incident, Mojtaba Khamenei took over the position of Supreme Leader. However, he has not been seen in public since the conflict began, and his exact whereabouts remain unclear. Meanwhile, Israeli officials have also alleged that Mojtaba Khamenei may have died in the attacks, adding further uncertainty to the situation.
