New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the UGC NET exam scheduled for January 15 due to Sankranti festivities. In a statement on Monday, the NTA cited requests from candidates as the reason for the deferment.
However, the exam scheduled for January 16 will proceed as planned, the agency confirmed. The revised date for the January 15 exam will be announced soon on the official website.
The UGC NET examination, which began on January 3, is being conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor posts and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities. The exams are being held across various centers in a computer-based format for 85 subjects.
The NTA clarified that the ongoing exams, except for the postponed session on January 15, will continue without disruption. Candidates are advised to stay updated through the official portal regarding further announcements on the rescheduled exam date.
The UGC NET serves as a key qualifying exam for postgraduate students aspiring to secure JRF, Assistant Professor roles, and PhD admissions.
