U.S. Strikes Iranian Nuclear City Isfahan Amid Rising Tensions

The United States has launched a major offensive against Iran, targeting the strategic city of Isfahan, which hosts key nuclear facilities. Using 900 kilograms of bunker-buster bombs, U.S. strikes hit a weapons depot, triggering massive fires at the site. President Donald Trump shared video footage of the attacks on his social media platform, Truth Social. While he had announced a 10-day delay in strikes on Iran’s power plants and fuel infrastructure, operations against other locations have continued.

In response, Iran has carried out drone attacks on a Kuwaiti crude oil tanker near the Dubai port, causing large-scale fires. Rescue teams are working to control the blazes. The escalating military actions have heightened tensions across the Gulf region, impacting maritime and energy security.

Efforts to initiate peace talks to end the West Asia conflict have stalled. Pakistan offered to host U.S.-Iran negotiations, but Iran declined, stating it is not associated with Pakistan’s mediation plans. A planned meeting in Islamabad on Monday involving foreign ministers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey was called off as the ministers returned to their home countries before the session could take place.

Meanwhile, Trump has continued to issue warnings to Iran, urging a swift agreement and the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. With military operations ongoing on both sides and diplomatic efforts faltering, regional stability and global energy supplies remain under significant threat.
