Tensions between Iran and the United States are escalating, with the Trump administration reportedly preparing for full-scale military action. In a dramatic move, the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world’s largest warship, has been deployed to the Middle East to join the USS Abraham Lincoln already stationed in the region. This deployment effectively doubles U.S. naval strength in the area and is seen as a strategy to increase pressure on Iran.
While diplomatic talks continue, recent high-level discussions in Oman and Qatar between Iranian security officials and U.S. intermediaries have reportedly failed. The U.S. insists that peace is possible only if Iran halts its nuclear program completely, while Iran has refused to compromise on its missile systems.
Trump has previously warned that if Iran maintains its hardline stance, it could face severe military consequences, including an operation code-named the “Midnight Hammer.” F-35 stealth fighters and guided missile destroyers are on standby, and the U.S. is reportedly looking to leverage ongoing domestic protests in Iran to its advantage.
Commenting on the deployment, Trump stated, “If no agreement is reached, we need massive military strength, which is why we are sending a second warship.” Analysts warn that these developments not only heighten tensions between the two nations but also pose a potential threat to regional stability and global peace.
