TVK party chief Vijay has received a major setback as the CBI has issued him another summons in connection with the Karur stampede case. He has been asked to appear for questioning on Tuesday, March 10. The stampede, which occurred during a TVK rally in Karur on September 27 last year, claimed 41 lives and triggered widespread outrage. Following Supreme Court directives, the case is being investigated by the CBI.

Vijay has already appeared multiple times before the CBI, and officials have collected evidence from him. However, due to the need for further clarification on certain aspects of the case, the agency has once again summoned him for questioning.

Authorities are expected to examine the arrangements made for the Karur rally, permissions granted for the event venue, and the roles of the TVK party as well as the Tamil Nadu government. The inquiry aims to determine any lapses or violations that contributed to the tragic incident.

Tamil Nadu is scheduled to hold assembly elections in April or May this year. Both ruling and opposition parties have already announced key promises to attract voters. The TVK party recently released its manifesto. With the elections approaching, the CBI’s renewed summons to Vijay has drawn significant attention, highlighting the political and legal implications of the ongoing investigation.
