The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has responded to claims circulating about a “centipede” being found in the Anna Prasadam consumed by a devotee. The TTD posted on Twitter addressing this issue, stating that allegations made by a devotee claiming to have spotted a centipede in the Anna Prasadam at Madhava Nalayam are completely unfounded. The TTD noted that they prepare large quantities of Anna Prasadam to serve thousands of devotees who come for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Suspicious Claims
The TTD expressed surprise at the devotee’s assertion that a centipede was present in the food without any disruption, especially considering that even if curd rice was to be mixed, the hot rice would be thoroughly stirred before adding curd. In such a case, having a centipede in the food without any change in appearance can only be viewed as a deliberate act. The TTD urged devotees not to believe such false news.
What Actually Happened
Today, there was a commotion in Tirumala’s Anna Dana center regarding the alleged appearance of a centipede in the curd rice served there. A devotee noticed a centipede on their plate while dining at the Madhava Nalayam Anna Dana center. Devotees are questioning the TTD management regarding the presence of a centipede in the Anna Prasadam. Not only did the TTD staff provide a careless response, but they also asked the devotees to leave, which has led to outrage among the devotees.
