US President Donald Trump has once again defended the American military strikes on Iran, saying the operation was necessary to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. Speaking at an event in Florida, he claimed that B-2 bombers were used in the attack and warned that without such action, Iran could have advanced its nuclear capability to a dangerous level that might have threatened Israel, West Asia, and Europe.
Trump said the military action had severely weakened Iran’s defence capabilities, adding that its air force and navy had been “completely destroyed.” He also alleged that Iran’s leadership structure is now fragmented, with multiple groups operating without coordination and the country facing internal confusion.
Expressing frustration over stalled peace negotiations, Trump said Iran’s recent proposals in talks with the United States were not satisfactory. He also linked global energy market disruptions to ongoing conflicts, acknowledging that oil and petrol prices have risen due to war conditions, while stating they would come down once tensions ease.
He further asserted that a nuclear-free Iran is crucial for global stability and warned that allowing Tehran to develop nuclear weapons would pose a serious threat to international security. According to him, a stable West Asia can only be achieved after the conflict ends and nuclear ambitions are fully curbed.
Meanwhile, Trump also criticised a US Congressional rule requiring approval within 60 days for continuing military actions, calling supporting lawmakers “unpatriotic.” His contradictory remarks—ranging from claims that the war has ended to continued justification of military strikes—have sparked widespread international debate and political controversy.
