New York: U.S. President Donald Trump used his address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to deliver sharp criticism of the global body, claiming it had failed to prevent conflicts and lost its relevance. Trump asserted that his administration had successfully intervened to stop seven wars within nine months, involving countries such as India and Pakistan, Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, Congo and Rwanda, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Emphasizing his commitment to global peace, Trump declared, “The real Nobel Prize for me is saving lives.” He accused the UN of being ineffective in its role, remarking that “empty words do not end wars.” The U.S. President said he personally engaged with world leaders to de-escalate tensions but did not receive “a single phone call” from the UN in support of those efforts.
Trump also turned his attention to Russia’s war economy, criticizing India and China for continuing to import Russian oil and gas, thereby providing Moscow with financial support. He further faulted European and NATO countries for failing to curb energy dependence on Russia, arguing that their actions undermined collective efforts to pressure the Kremlin.
