Amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, a high-profile meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir at the White House has attracted significant global attention. The official nature of the lunch invitation extended to Munir has sparked widespread discussion, especially as speculation grows over the strategic motives behind the engagement. Adding fuel to the debate, former U.S. Department of Defense official and senior analyst at the American Enterprise Institute, Michael Rubin, made serious allegations that the Trump camp could be considering Pakistan as a potential site to relocate Iranian nuclear materials following a possible military strike.

Rubin claimed that Trump’s outreach to Pakistan is part of a broader strategy to seek tactical support against Iran. He warned that should Iran’s nuclear infrastructure be dismantled, the U.S. might need a partner country to safeguard or move sensitive materials—and Pakistan could be that partner. Rubin further alleged that Pakistan no longer acts independently, instead functioning as a proxy for China, raising concerns about the geopolitical ramifications. He speculated that Munir’s visit may also have involved relaying secret communications from Beijing to Washington.
Trump Warns Iran of Severe Retaliation
Trump has also issued a direct warning to Iran amid the ongoing conflict with Israel, declaring that if the U.S. were to enter a war, the consequences for Iran would be devastating. “Our goal is to eliminate nuclear threats. If war breaks out, Iran will be flattened by our bombs,” he stated. Reports suggest that Trump had previously prepared detailed plans for military action against Iran but pulled back at the last moment. However, sources now indicate that he may initiate decisive steps in the coming week, with renewed focus on U.S. military posture and foreign policy in the region.
