Hyderabad: The Telugu Film Employees Federation has announced a strike halting all Tollywood film and web series shoots starting August 4. The federation has demanded a 30% hike in wages for its members and insisted that the increased wages be paid on the same day of work.
Citing stagnant wages for the past three years and rising essential commodity prices, the federation stated that its members would not report to any film or web series shoots without official approval. The strike will apply to Telugu film productions regardless of location and will also extend to other language projects.

The federation has appointed Syed Humayun and Veerashankar as coordination committee chairmen to handle wage negotiations. Producers must provide written confirmation agreeing to the revised wages before work can resume. Violations of the strike directive will invite strict disciplinary action. The ongoing dispute is expected to disrupt the industry until a resolution is reached.
