In a disturbing turn of events, Mohammad Shami, a fast bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 season, received a threatening email demanding Rs. 1 crore from his family. The email, which arrived around 2-3 PM on Sunday, included a threat to kill Shami if the money was not paid. Shami’s brother, Haseeb, promptly filed a complaint with the Amroha police.
This marks the second such threat received by the cricketer, with the first email sent on May 4 in the evening and the second on May 5 in the morning, just before Shami’s scheduled match against Delhi. The police have initiated an investigation and a case has been registered. The authorities are actively examining the situation to identify the source of the threats.
