Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced a fare hike for buses operating within Hyderabad and Secunderabad, effective October 6. The revised charges will apply to all city buses, including Metro Deluxe and E-Metro AC services, as part of TGSRTC’s efforts to adjust operational costs amid rising expenses.
Under the new fare structure, passengers traveling in Metro Deluxe and E-Metro AC buses will incur an additional ₹5 for the first three stages and ₹10 from the fourth stage onwards. The adjustment will cover all city bus services, ensuring a standardized fare across different bus types and routes within the twin cities.
While the fare increase affects most commuters, women travelers will continue to enjoy free travel under the Mahalakshmi Ticket scheme, leaving men to bear the additional charges. The move has sparked concern among male passengers, who are expected to shoulder the extra financial burden, prompting discussions about the impact on daily commuters.
