Hyderabad: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced significant welfare measures, stating that the upcoming Ugadi festival will bring transformative changes for the poor. On Friday, he launched the Sanna Biyyam (fine rice) scheme in Huzurnagar and addressed the media on the initiative.
He stated that 85% of Telangana’s population will benefit from fine rice distribution. However, he noted that many ration beneficiaries are selling coarse rice in the black market instead of consuming it. In addition to rice, the government plans to distribute essential commodities such as dal and salt. Arrangements have been made to ensure that ration rice is accessible statewide.
