Hyderabad: The popular reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Nagarjuna, has found itself embroiled in legal trouble following a petition filed by CPI National Secretary K. Narayana. The Telangana High Court, in response to the petition, has issued notices to Nagarjuna and the organizers of the show.
Narayana, in a press conference held in Tirupati on Monday, vehemently criticized the show, labeling it harmful to society and culture. He argued that Bigg Boss does not provide any constructive value and is misleading to the youth. He further stated that the show promotes inappropriate content, such as unmarried couples sharing the same bed, and likened it to endorsing “cheap and costly prostitution.”

Narayana raised concerns about the impact of the show on the youth, questioning the ethics of isolating young participants in a confined setting for over 100 days, even with all basic amenities provided. He also condemned the portrayal of women in beauty pageants, calling them “goods for sale,” and equated both Bigg Boss and beauty contests to being degrading to women.
This legal challenge is not Narayana’s first attempt to ban the show. He had previously petitioned for a ban, but his requests had been dismissed until now. After two years of efforts, the High Court has finally responded and accepted the petition, directing that notices be served to Nagarjuna and the organizers.
Narayana expressed hope that the court would rule in favor of protecting India’s traditional family values and sacred cultural practices. He asserted that Bigg Boss offers nothing for the country to learn from and contributes negatively to the nation’s cultural integrity.
