The High Court has concluded its hearing on petitions filed regarding the Group-1 notification but has announced that the judgment will be reserved. This has reignited concerns among Group-1 candidates, as several individuals have submitted petitions requesting the re-release of the merit list based on corrections in the key, re-notification, and ST reservations. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) informed the court that the final key was released only after considering all objections. With the Group-1 mains examinations scheduled to commence on October 21, the High Court has prioritized this case.
Background on Group-1 Notification
Since the Congress government came to power in Telangana, the Group-1 notification has been released to fill 563 posts. The breakdown of positions includes 200 general posts, 49 for EWS, 44 for BC (A), 37 for BC (B), 13 for BC (C), 22 for BC (D), 16 for BC (E), 93 for SC, 52 for ST, 4 for sports persons, and 24 for persons with disabilities. Many candidates have expressed concerns that the service commission has failed to maintain the 1:50 selection ratio across all categories, leading to disadvantages for candidates in the reservation categories.
