The Telangana government has officially launched the Comprehensive Family Survey, with a focus on completing the process within the set timelines in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. To ensure the smooth execution of the survey, the state government has appointed key supervisory officials to oversee the process at various levels.
Municipal Administration Secretary, Dan Kishore, issued orders appointing Sarfaraz Ahmed, Commissioner of GHMC, as the supervisory officer for the GHMC area. Srivatsa, Joint Commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), has been tasked with supervising the Secunderabad and Charminar zones, while Priyanka, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, will oversee the Khairatabad and LB Nagar zones. Mayank Mittal, Executive Director of the Water Board, has been appointed to supervise the Serilingampally and Kukatpally zones.
Additionally, GHMC Commissioner Ilambarthi is currently serving as an election official in Jharkhand but continues to monitor the survey work remotely.
To ensure smooth coordination on the ground, Sarfaraz has been entrusted with overseeing the field-level operations, working closely with zonal commissioners to ensure the survey is completed within the prescribed timeframe. The government has directed Sarfaraz to assist the GHMC Commissioner as needed to ensure seamless execution.
The first phase of the survey involved placing stickers on households, which has been completed over the past three days. The second phase commenced on Saturday, with survey teams visiting each household to collect personal and family details. This phase began at 10:00 AM today.
As part of the survey process, the state government has finalized a list of 243 castes, which includes 59 in the SC category, 32 in the ST category, 134 in the BC category, and 18 in the OC category.
