Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly Budget Session is set to commence on Wednesday, with a three-tier security arrangement in place around the Assembly premises. Authorities have imposed restrictions on protests, rallies, and dharnas in the vicinity.
Governor will address both houses at 11 AM on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka is expected to present the annual budget on March 19 or 20, with reports indicating a proposed budget of approximately ₹3.2 lakh crore.
Following the Governor’s address, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will convene to finalize the session’s duration and agenda. Sources suggest the session may continue until the end of the month.

On March 13, both houses will separately discuss and pass a resolution thanking the Governor for her address. Key resolutions, including 42% reservations for BCs in education, employment, and local bodies, along with SC categorization, are expected to be passed on March 17 and 18.
Leader of Opposition K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has confirmed his participation in the session, adding to the political significance of the proceedings. Key issues such as farmers’ concerns, unemployment, and the Congress government’s six guarantees are expected to be debated extensively.
Speaker Prasada Kumar and Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy have reviewed the session’s arrangements with senior officials, issuing necessary directives to ensure smooth conduct. Strict security measures have been implemented to prevent any disruptions.
