U.S.-based AI startup Anthropic recently launched a new AI tool, causing waves of concern among tech companies. Responding for the first time, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said there is no need to panic. He described AI, like Google Search and YouTube, as a general supporting tool and stressed that fears around it are largely unnecessary. Pichai added that companies could use such technology to enhance productivity and create new opportunities.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang echoed similar views, noting that AI can improve existing software tools but is not replacing them. He suggested that employees can utilize AI for complex tasks, enabling faster and more efficient completion of objectives. Both leaders emphasized that AI should be seen as an aid rather than a threat to human roles in the workplace.

The release of Anthropic’s AI tool has already impacted global markets. Shares in software, legal tech, and financial services companies fell, with reports indicating a loss of $285 billion in a single trading session. Anthropic introduced the Claude Ops 4.6 model, designed to develop the CICM compiler. The company stated that 16 Claude AI agents collaboratively generated the compiler in just two days, handling millions of lines of code.

The CICM compiler is a software program that converts C-language source code into a machine-readable format, allowing CPUs to execute instructions in binary code. Experts note that developing such a compiler is a highly complex task, making AI’s autonomous creation of it a significant technological milestone. This development underscores AI’s growing role as a powerful support tool for software and tech innovation.
