Kadapa: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday delivered an emotionally charged speech at the inaugural session of the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Mahanadu in Kadapa, asserting that party workers are the “real high command” of the TDP. Emphasizing their role in the party’s journey, he described the cadre as the “lifeblood and weapons” of the organisation.

Opening the event with slogans of “Jai Telugu Desam” and “Johar NTR”, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao, hoisted the party flag, and lit the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the gathering, he said, “The workers who fought against destructive governance are the strength of the party. Their sacrifices will not be forgotten, and we are committed to their welfare.”

TDP is the Trendsetter in Good Governance: CM

Highlighting TDP’s governance model, Chandrababu noted, “TDP is the trendsetter in development, welfare, and administrative reforms. Our motto has always been ‘State First’ and our approach is rooted in positive politics.” He added that TDP created history by becoming the only regional party to register one crore members in just 45 days.

Recounting the party’s milestones, including the 1982 movement for democratic preservation and recent protests against misgovernance, he asserted that TDP’s momentum and energy remain unshaken, whether in power or in opposition.

Referring to the significance of the location, Chandrababu said, “Holding Mahanadu in Rayalaseema is symbolic. The energy here in Kadapa indicates that we will win all 10 seats in the region in the next election.” He lauded long-time grassroots workers for upholding the party’s flag in villages for decades without expecting anything in return.

“Every leader must recognise that we are here today because of their commitment,” he added.

A Party That Overcame Every Crisis

Recalling the TDP’s 43-year journey, the Chief Minister stated, “We have survived political crises that no other party in the country has faced. While critics claimed our time was up, the TDP flag has continued to fly high.” He referred to iconic movements such as NTR’s Chaitanya Ratham, his own Vastunna Meekosam padayatra, and Nara Lokesh’s Yuvagalam, saying they reflect the unwavering spirit of the cadre.

Influencing National Politics

Chandrababu underlined the TDP’s role in shaping national policy decisions and claimed that the party had a significant impact across regions, from Telangana to Uttarandhra. “Our governance is the benchmark. We are all students of the TDP political school, and I remain a lifelong learner dedicated to serving the people,” he said. The Chief Minister’s address set the tone for the rest of the Mahanadu, reaffirming the central role of the party cadre in the TDP’s legacy and vision for the future.
