Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are approaching, with political activity intensifying across the state. Both the ruling and opposition parties are engaged in aggressive campaigning, creating a high-stakes environment. Amid growing anticipation over the electoral outcome, recent pre-poll surveys indicate a strong advantage for the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, suggesting it could retain power.
According to a Lok Poll survey conducted between March 1 and April 1 among 117,000 respondents, the DMK-led alliance is projected to secure 40.1% vote share and win between 181 and 189 seats in the 234-member विधानसभा. Welfare initiatives such as free bus travel for women and breakfast schemes in schools are cited as key factors driving support, particularly among women voters.
