A suspected Ebola virus case has put health authorities on alert at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad. A Sudanese national, identified as Mohammed, arrived in Hyderabad for medical treatment and was flagged during airport screening after officials discovered a previous history of Ebola infection. The finding prompted immediate action from airport authorities and the Telangana Health Department.

According to officials, the passenger’s medical records were thoroughly examined by health desk personnel as part of standard international travel screening procedures. During the verification process, authorities found evidence of a past Ebola infection, leading to the activation of precautionary health protocols.

The passenger was subsequently shifted by ambulance to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad, where he has been admitted to a dedicated isolation facility and placed under the observation of a specialized medical team. Samples have been collected and sent for laboratory testing to determine whether there is any active Ebola infection.

In response to the incident, authorities have intensified screening measures at Hyderabad’s international airport and increased surveillance of passengers arriving from abroad, particularly from African countries. Health officials stressed that the individual was isolated purely as a precaution based on his medical history and urged the public not to panic, stating that the situation remains under control and is being closely monitored.
