Prominent producer D. Suresh Babu registered a decisive victory in the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) elections and was elected President. Contesting with the backing of the Progressive Panel, he secured a clear majority over his rival. The Suresh Babu-led team achieved a clean sweep, reflecting strong support from the industry.
In the executive committee elections held for 48 posts, the Progressive Panel won 31 seats, while the rival Mana Panel was limited to 17 seats. Ashok Kumar was elected Secretary, Nagavamsi as Vice President, and Damodar Prasad as Treasurer, further strengthening the Progressive Panel’s hold in the chamber. Following the victory, Suresh Babu stated that his panel remains committed to the welfare of exhibitors, producers, and distributors.
With this mandate, the Progressive Panel is set to play a decisive role in shaping key decisions of the Telugu film industry for the next two years. The newly elected executive body will focus on addressing industry challenges and strengthening the theatre system.
Sector-wise results show a dominant performance by the Progressive Panel in the Exhibitors sector, where it secured 14 seats, while the Mana Panel won only 2. In the Distribution sector, out of 12 EC seats, the Progressive Panel won 8, the Mana Panel secured 3, and one seat ended in a tie. In the Producers sector, the Mana Panel won 7 seats, edging past the Progressive Panel, which secured 5. In the Studio sector, the Mana Panel gained an advantage with three members elected, while the Progressive Panel won one seat.
