DELHI: A skeleton discovered in a passenger’s luggage at Indira Gandhi International Airport triggered a security alert. The incident occurred at Terminal 3 during routine baggage scanning, prompting airport security personnel to immediately inform the Delhi Police. Officers rushed to the site and began a detailed investigation.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the luggage belonged to a medical student traveling from Delhi. The skeleton inside was identified as a medical demonstration model, commonly used for educational purposes in medical colleges. Airport security and Delhi Police confirmed that there was no criminal or suspicious activity involved in the incident.
To ensure clarity, the authorities have sent the skeleton for forensic testing to verify whether it is human or a medical replica. Delhi Police stated that the results of the forensic report would determine the next course of action and confirm all facts surrounding the incident.
The airport resumed normal operations after thorough checks, and officials emphasized that such educational models are occasionally transported by students for academic purposes.
