Anakapalli, April 4: A serious road accident was reported on Thursday in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district, where an APSRTC ultra luxury bus lost control and overturned after ramming into a coconut tree near Purushottapuram junction on the national highway in Yelamanchili mandal.
The bus, operated by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, was en route from Tekkali to Rajahmundry with 22 passengers onboard. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle veered off the road into nearby agricultural fields before crashing into a tree and overturning.

Six passengers sustained serious injuries, while several others suffered minor injuries. All injured individuals were immediately shifted to NTR Hospital in Anakapalli for medical treatment.
Police arrived at the scene and launched rescue operations. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident, with local residents being questioned as part of the inquiry.
