The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrived in Tirupati to probe the allegations of adulterated ghee used in the preparation of Srivari Laddus. The state government recently appointed Sarvashreshthi Tripathi as the SIT Chief to lead this investigation. The SIT will take over the case currently registered at the Tirupati East Police Station. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has assured full cooperation to the SIT team, which will scrutinize past ghee supply records, testing processes, and quality standards. Upon completing the inquiry, the SIT will submit a detailed report to the state government.

Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has canceled his scheduled visit to Tirupati amid the ongoing declaration controversy, police restrictions, and the preemptive arrests of YSR Congress Party leaders. Jagan accused Chief Minister Chandrababu of tarnishing the temple’s reputation by spreading false allegations regarding the quality of the laddus. On September 25, Jagan urged devotees across the state to participate in special prayers at temples on September 28 to cleanse the sin caused by the false propaganda. Jagan, who planned to visit Tirumala for darshan on the same day, has now canceled his trip due to the prevailing restrictions and controversies.
