In a historic milestone, the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS), and visuals of the crew entering the orbital laboratory have now emerged. The crew, traveling aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, entered the ISS shortly after docking. Among them, India’s Shubham Shukla made history as the first Indian to set foot inside the ISS.
The crew is set to conduct scientific experiments over a two-week stay aboard the station. The Dragon spacecraft, launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, initially entered a lower orbit than the ISS before executing a series of maneuvers to reach and dock with the station. Alongside Shukla, the Ax-4 team includes Peggy Whitson (USA), Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski (Poland), and Tibor Kapu (Hungary), all of whom are now aboard the ISS for the mission.
