The highly anticipated action sequel Akhanda 2, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, is set to hit theatres on December 5, with large-scale nationwide promotions already underway. As part of the campaign, the film’s trailer was unveiled in a grand public event held at Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar attended as the chief guest and released the trailer amid loud cheers from fans who gathered despite heavy rainfall.
Speaking at the event, director Boyapati Sreenu expressed gratitude to Shiva Rajkumar and stated that the film revolves around the spiritual concept of Shiva Tatva. He added that revealing the trailer through Shiva Rajkumar felt symbolic and meaningful. Boyapati also hinted at the film’s theme, stating that when forces attempt to insult or weaken the nation, Dharma rises as a weapon to oppose them. Shiva Rajkumar acknowledged the longstanding relationship between the two film families and complimented Balakrishna’s energy, encouraging fans to prepare for celebrations once the film releases.
Balakrishna stated that Akhanda 2 is not just a Telugu or Kannada film, but a true pan-India project rooted in Sanatana Dharma. He said his films often aim to deliver positive messages to the youth and affirmed that this film will demonstrate how Dharma stands resilient. He also revealed that his look in Veera Simha Reddy was inspired by Shiva Rajkumar’s appearance in the film Mufti. Meanwhile, the trailer has generated strong excitement on social media, with Balakrishna’s line, “You have seen our nation’s form, but not its universal form,” going viral and heightening expectations of another major box-office success from the Balakrishna–Boyapati collaboration.
