Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar (85) was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune after experiencing health issues, including severe dehydration and fatigue. This marks his second hospital visit this month, prompting concern among political circles. Pawar is currently receiving fluids through an IV drip, and doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable. He is expected to remain under medical supervision for the next two days.
Last week, on February 9, Pawar was admitted to the same hospital for a chest infection and throat-related issues. After five days of treatment, he was discharged on February 14. Despite medical advice to take a full week of rest, Pawar experienced renewed discomfort before fully recovering.
Pawar’s daughter, MP Supriya Sule, addressed the situation on X (formerly Twitter), assuring supporters and party workers: “We admitted Babu for follow-up tests and hydration. There is no need for concern.”
Doctors suggest that Pawar’s demanding schedule and continuous political engagements, even at the age of 85, may have contributed to his physical strain and fatigue. Despite his age, he remains actively involved in political tours and responsibilities, which has impacted his health.
