Hyderabad: The discovery of secret cameras in the girls’ hostel bathroom at CMR Engineering College has led to widespread protests and outrage. Students alleged that over 300 videos were secretly recorded without their knowledge, prompting demands for immediate action from the college management.
Police Suspect Hostel Staff Involvement
Preliminary investigations point to hostel staff involvement, with police confiscating 12 mobile phones suspected of being used for recording. Five individuals have been detained for questioning, while authorities examine the potential misuse of the videos.
Students have called for accountability from college owner Malla Reddy if the videos are leaked and demanded swift measures to address privacy violations.
Blackmail Allegations Surface
Reports suggest that the accused may have used the secret footage to blackmail students. Allegations have also emerged that the college management was aware of the issue but deliberately concealed it. The ABVP has demanded strict action against those responsible.
