Russia’s latest attacks on Ukraine have left hundreds of thousands of civilians without electricity. On Tuesday, Russian forces targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure using a large number of missiles and drones, destroying key power grids and electricity facilities across the country. Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko confirmed that these strikes have cut off power to millions of homes, particularly in Kyiv, border regions, and areas including Rivne and Volyn. Residential areas in major cities such as Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odessa, across approximately nine regions, have been severely affected, with civilian casualties reported.
Putin pretends to be ready for diplomacy and peace negotiations, while in reality this night Russia launched a brutal missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

As winter approaches, the attacks exacerbate the challenges faced by civilians. Reliable electricity is crucial for heating homes and ensuring access to drinking water, making the timing of these strikes particularly dangerous. Ukrainian officials have condemned Russia, accusing it of using winter as a weapon to inflict maximum hardship on the population.
Engineers are working under wartime conditions to restore the damaged power systems and provide electricity to affected areas. However, the scale of destruction and continued attacks make restoration efforts difficult. The strikes are severely impacting daily life and safety for millions of Ukrainians.
