Russia has reportedly conducted a successful test of its new nuclear-powered cruise missile, Burevestnik, marking a significant development in its defense capabilities. President Vladimir Putin announced the achievement and instructed the armed forces to prepare the necessary infrastructure for the missile’s deployment.

According to Russian military sources, the Burevestnik test was part of recent nuclear exercises personally supervised by President Putin. Commanders briefed him that the missile remained airborne for nearly 15 hours and covered a distance of approximately 14,000 kilometers during the trial.

The announcement follows a series of high-level meetings between Putin and top defense officials, including Chief of the General Staff General Valery Gerasimov. Gerasimov stated that the missile’s operations had effectively surrounded over 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers and intercepted a Ukrainian force comprising 31 battalions.

The successful test underscores Moscow’s continued focus on expanding its strategic nuclear arsenal amid heightened global tensions and its ongoing conflict with Ukraine.
