Russian forces have intensified their offensive against Ukraine, unleashing over 300 drones and more than 30 missiles in a large-scale overnight attack, Ukrainian officials confirmed on Friday. The strikes caused widespread destruction, targeting residential buildings, hospitals, and civilian vehicles.
Emergency services reported that several individuals remain trapped under debris, with rescue operations currently underway. The injured have been transported to hospitals for medical treatment.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the city of Odesa was hit particularly hard, with more than 20 drones and multiple missiles striking key areas. One person was killed, and several others sustained serious injuries in the attack. Significant damage to infrastructure was also reported in the northeastern Sumy region.
President Zelensky expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s international allies for their continued military support, including the supply of critical weapons systems amid ongoing Russian aggression.
Ten regions were targeted in Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine. Russia launched over 300 attack drones and more than 30 missiles of various types.
