New Delhi: The National Capital Region experienced another earthquake on Friday evening, causing residents to evacuate their homes amid growing concern. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the tremor measured 3.7 on the Richter scale, originating at a depth of 10 kilometers.
This follows a stronger 4.4 magnitude earthquake that struck the region on Thursday morning around 9 AM. The occurrence of consecutive earthquakes within two days has raised alarms among both residents and authorities. Despite the tremors, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage.
Delhi has witnessed several earthquakes in recent months, including a 4.0 magnitude quake on February 17, 2025, and a milder 2.3 magnitude tremor on June 8, 2025. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity closely to ensure public safety.
