Hanumakonda: Prominent writer and social activist Anishetti Rajitha passed away on Monday night following a heart attack at her residence in Gopalapuram, Hanumakonda. Rajitha had participated in a book release event the previous night but suddenly fell ill, leaving the literary community and social circles deeply mournful. Known for her close ties with literary organizations across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, she was widely recognized for her writings on social issues and women’s empowerment.
Anishetti Rajitha dedicated her life to literature and social service, authoring over 500 poems, 109 essays, and 38 songs throughout her career. She was honored with the Telangana State Distinguished Women Award in 2017. Having joined Kakatiya University in 1992 as a senior assistant, she continued her service until retirement. Rajitha’s works played a significant role in the Telangana movement and addressed topics such as gender equality and social justice. True to her commitment to society, she donated her body to medical students for educational purposes. Her last rites will be performed after handing over her body to Kakatiya Medical College.
