The iconic Telugu film Shiva (1989), directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starring Nagarjuna, is set for a theatrical re-release on November 14 in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound. The film, widely regarded as a cult classic, is credited with introducing a revolutionary style to Telugu cinema and leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
The announcement of the re-release has generated excitement among fans and the film fraternity. Megastar Chiranjeevi released a special video praising the film, calling it “not just a movie, but a revolution” and commending Nagarjuna’s performance and the entire team. Chiranjeevi’s heartfelt remarks quickly went viral on social media.
Following this, Ram Gopal Varma responded on X (Twitter), expressing gratitude and issuing a public apology to Chiranjeevi. He wrote, “Thank you, Chiranjeevi garu. If I have ever hurt your feelings, I sincerely apologize. My respects to your magnanimous heart.” Varma’s gesture surprised fans, considering that past projects between the two, such as Vinaalani Undhi, were shelved, and the pair had not collaborated since.
Despite occasional controversial remarks by Varma about the Mega family on social media, Chiranjeevi had never publicly responded—until now. The re-release of Shiva is thus not only stirring nostalgia among fans but also signaling a reconciliation between the two cinema stalwarts, adding an emotional dimension to the film’s return.
Thank you @KChiruTweets gaaru, Also on this occasion I want to sincerely apologise to you if I ever unintentionally offended you ..Thank you once again for your large heartedness 🙏🙏🙏 pic.twitter.com/08EaUPVCQT
