Priyanka Gandhi has secured a significant victory in the Wayanad constituency, marking her first-ever direct electoral contest. Known for her involvement in party activities and campaigning on behalf of her family, this was Priyanka’s maiden attempt in direct elections. She contested from Wayanad, a seat previously held by her brother, Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka won by a substantial margin of over 4.04 lakh votes, surpassing Rahul’s record of 3.64 lakh votes in the recent parliamentary elections. Rahul congratulated Priyanka on her triumph, expressing pride in her efforts to continue the Gandhi family’s legacy in Wayanad. In a tweet, he praised her dedication and commitment to the development of the region, expressing confidence that Priyanka would work passionately and courageously for Wayanad’s progress. Rahul also acknowledged the people’s trust in her and thanked them for their support.
