Hyderabad: Actor R. Narayana Murthy has lauded Chiranjeevi’s handling of film industry matters in Andhra Pradesh, terming his response during the Assembly debate on Balakrishna’s remarks “100 percent accurate.” Speaking at a recent media interaction, Narayana Murthy recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the industry faced uncertainty, Chiranjeevi proactively engaged with senior filmmakers and actors, including himself, to address concerns.

He stated that under Chiranjeevi’s leadership, they met then-Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, who responded positively and respectfully. “Everyone was treated with respect. The industry’s needs were addressed. Any claims that the previous government disrespected Chiranjeevi or senior film personalities are completely false. Chiranjeevi personally called me—that reflects his character. He spoke to the Chief Minister on behalf of the industry, and it was because of him that the issues were resolved,” he said.
Narayana Murthy further urged the current government to tackle ongoing industry challenges, noting that problems from the previous administration remain unresolved. On cinema ticket pricing, he added, “Cinema is the only medium that provides entertainment to the common man. Increasing ticket prices creates difficulties for ordinary viewers.”
