Dil Raju made striking remarks about the changing dynamics in the Telugu film industry, stating that producers no longer command the value and respect they once enjoyed. Speaking at an event held in Madikeri, Karnataka, to mark the 90th birthday celebrations of senior producer Atluri Poornachandra Rao, he said that earlier a producer was regarded as a giver, but today those who receive from producers are in a position to dictate terms.
Dil Raju observed that the stature traditionally associated with producers has diminished over time, with the balance of power shifting within the industry. He remarked that the current ecosystem often places those benefiting from producers in a commanding role, reflecting a significant transformation from earlier decades.
Praising Atluri Poornachandra Rao, who has produced 87 films, Dil Raju described him as a major source of inspiration and announced that he would soon produce a value-based film under Atluri’s presentation. He also recalled an instance when Atluri approached him for the Hindi remake rights of his debut film “Dil,” stating that Atluri had offered the rights free of cost if he agreed.
Highlighting the influence of legendary producers such as D. Ramanaidu and Atluri, Dil Raju said their legacy continues to inspire his filmmaking journey. His remarks have since sparked discussion across the Telugu film industry.
