Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has emerged victorious in Wayanad with an impressive margin of over 4.04 lakh votes. This victory surpasses the record set by her brother Rahul Gandhi, who won with a margin of 3.64 lakh votes in the 2024 parliamentary elections. Priyanka, who contested from Wayanad for the first time, secured more than 6.20 lakh votes, while CPI candidate Satyan Mokery received over 2 lakh votes.
In her statement on social media, Priyanka Gandhi expressed gratitude for the trust shown by the people and described the victory as a success for the public. She committed to representing their voice in Parliament and thanked her fellow UDF members, Congress leaders, and workers in Kerala for their support. Priyanka also acknowledged the unwavering support of her mother Sonia Gandhi and husband Robert Vadra, calling their backing indispensable to her success.
