The coalition government has raised allegations regarding the presence of animal fat in the famed Tirupati laddus, transforming the matter into a significant national issue. A report from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) claims that animal byproducts have been found in the laddus.
Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of attempting to undermine the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. In response to the allegations regarding the purported adulteration of the laddus, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his deep concern in a post on social media, affirming that the government is committed to taking strict action against those responsible.
Pawan Kalyan called for the TTD board, which operated during the YSRCP regime, to address numerous outstanding questions. He also proposed the establishment of a National Sanatan Dharma Protection Board, emphasizing the need for serious discussions involving religious leaders, legal experts, and representatives from all communities on the protection of temples. He underscored the necessity of a national policy regarding temple governance.
In response to Pawan Kalyan’s remarks, actor Prakash Raj criticized the Deputy Chief Minister, asserting that issues should be resolved in the state he oversees. He urged immediate action against those responsible for the alleged adulteration and questioned the rationale behind escalating the issue to a national level, pointing out the existing communal tensions in the country.
