Hyderabad: The police department has taken serious note of ACP Vishnu Murthy’s recent press conference at the Press Club, where he made controversial remarks against actor Allu Arjun. The press meet, held without prior approval from higher authorities, has drawn criticism for breaching protocol and violating disciplinary norms.
Report Submitted to DGP
Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav has submitted a detailed report to the DGP, recommending action against ACP Vishnu Murthy for procedural violations. “Strict action must be taken against those who breach departmental regulations,” DCP Yadav stated in his report.
Critical Remarks Against Allu Arjun
During the press conference, Vishnu Murthy accused Allu Arjun of undermining the police force, stating, “An individual accused in a case cannot hold a press meet to claim innocence while spreading false narratives against the police.” He further criticized the actor’s portrayal of police officers in films, questioning the ethics of such representations.
Murthy warned against any overreach, saying, “Heroism should be confined to the screen. If boundaries are crossed in real life, we will take necessary action.” He also cautioned against forming private groups to incite unrest and criticized attempts to demean the law enforcement community.
Disciplinary History Highlighted
This incident is not the first controversy involving ACP Vishnu Murthy. He was previously suspended in 2024 and has a history of disciplinary issues, including an attachment to the DGP office for misconduct. The police department’s firm response underscores its commitment to maintaining discipline and professionalism within its ranks while addressing any actions that could tarnish its public image.
