The mystery surrounding the Charlapalli mother-children suicide case has been resolved. Police have confirmed that Medchal district resident Vijayareddy, a software engineer, committed suicide along with her two children due to severe depression. The case had posed a challenge for authorities over the past nine days, and investigations revealed that Vijayareddy had been struggling with significant mental stress for some time. Authorities are continuing to probe the underlying causes of her depression.
Preliminary findings indicate that Vijayareddy’s children, who were accustomed to following her instructions closely, accompanied her in the tragic act. On the night of January 30, Vijayareddy, along with her daughter Tanya Reddy and son Vishal Reddy, reportedly jumped under a train on the Hyderabad–Ghatkesar line near Charlapalli. Police have dismissed rumors about Vijayareddy using a second phone prior to the incident. Call records from the week before the incident are being reviewed as part of the investigation.
Vijayareddy, a resident of Harithaharam Colony in Boduppal, worked at a software company with 16 colleagues. Her daughter Tanya was an intermediate second-year student, and her son Vishal was in first-year intermediate. Her husband, Surender Reddy, lives in Dubai. Police stated that interviews with her colleagues and family members provided no suspicious leads, reinforcing that depression was the primary factor behind the tragic deaths.
