Kolkata police on Monday arrested two additional individuals, Shubhopratim and Gaurab Basu, in connection with the disturbances at the stadium during football icon Lionel Messi’s GoAT Tour India event on Saturday. The duo was accused of damaging stadium seats and creating disorder, prompting law enforcement action.
Earlier, event organizer Shatadru Dutta was also taken into custody and presented before the court, which granted 14 days of police custody. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to identify all parties responsible for the disruption.
The police stated that a comprehensive report on the incident will be submitted to the government within 15 days. Officials assured that strict action will be taken against anyone found culpable, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining public safety during large-scale events.
