Polavaram MLA Chirri Balaraju’s vehicle was attacked by miscreants in Eluru district, with stones and sticks being used during the incident. The attack occurred as Balaraju was departing from his residence in the evening, at the crossroads in Barinkalapadu village, Jelugumilli mandal.
The assault follows MLA Balaraju’s surprise inspection of the ITDA office on Monday morning. During the inspection, Balaraju had taken disciplinary action against Sai Kumar, an employee found playing PUBG during work hours, and ordered his immediate suspension. The link between this disciplinary action and the attack on Balaraju’s vehicle is currently under investigation by the police.
Jana Sena Chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has condemned the attack, stating, “We strongly condemn the stone-pelting on MLA Chirri Balaraju’s vehicle. The incident in Barrinkalapadu village did not result in any injuries as MLA Balaraju was not in the vehicle at the time. We urge the police to swiftly identify those responsible and take strict action.”
Authorities are investigating the motives behind the attack and are expected to provide further updates as the situation develops.
