New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on India’s youth to reduce dependence on foreign goods and prioritize domestically manufactured products, urging citizens to move away from the habit of bringing foreign items into their homes. Emphasizing the government’s focus on generating large-scale employment, he underlined that self-reliance is crucial in the current global scenario. Modi highlighted that domestically produced semiconductor chips will be available in the market by the end of this year and that India is making rapid progress in the development of its indigenous 6G network.
The Prime Minister stressed that promoting domestic products reflects national pride and has multiple economic benefits. Increased consumption of local goods strengthens the domestic economy, boosts sales for industries, small businesses, and artisans, and creates employment opportunities. At the same time, it helps reduce imports and saves foreign exchange. Modi emphasized that domestic products showcase India’s culture, arts, and craftsmanship, and supporting them helps preserve traditions while improving the livelihoods of rural and urban artisans and small business owners.
