Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has responded to allegations that derogatory comments were made about his late mother during opposition leader Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar. Modi expressed anguish over the incident, stating that several meetings and platforms organized by RJD and Congress leaders featured objectionable remarks about his mother, which he described as an insult not only to her but to all mothers and sisters across India.
Modi, addressing a virtual conference organized by the Bihar State Livelihood Mission Aid Society Limited for two million participants, recalled the sacrifices of his mother, Hiraben Modi, who worked tirelessly to raise him and his siblings despite her health challenges. He emphasized that mothers across India make similar sacrifices, and highlighted that leaders born into political families, such as Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, often fail to understand these struggles. He also criticized their pursuit of power for personal gain, contrasting it with the blessings of a poor mother that enabled his rise to the Prime Ministership.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media and in political circles, highlighting the sensitivity surrounding personal attacks on public figures and their families.
