New Delhi: With July already underway, the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme is yet to be credited to beneficiaries’ accounts, leaving crores of farmers across the country waiting for the Rs 2,000 cash assistance. According to government sources, the funds may be released on July 18, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Motihari, Bihar, on July 20.
The PM-Kisan scheme, launched in 2019, provides annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 to small and marginal farmers, distributed in three equal installments of Rs 2,000. The 19th installment was disbursed in February, while the 20th installment was originally due in June. Central government sources have indicated that the pending payment will be released within this month.
Beneficiaries can check the status of their payments or verify if their name is on the PM-Kisan list by visiting the official website [https://pmkisan.gov.in](https://pmkisan.gov.in) and entering their registered mobile number or Aadhaar number. Additionally, the PM-Kisan mobile app is available for easy access to scheme-related services. The registration process for new beneficiaries is ongoing through the same portal.
