Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the Municipal Administration Department to develop Outer Ring Roads (ORRs) around major cities including Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar to address growing traffic congestion and support future urban expansion. Keeping in view the proposed airports in these regions, especially in Warangal, the Chief Minister stressed the need for seamless road connectivity and instructed officials to prepare infrastructure plans capable of meeting the next 25 years of urban requirements. He also suggested the development of radial roads near major municipalities.
Revanth Reddy emphasized the adoption of green energy initiatives and environmentally sustainable urban policies to reduce government expenditure and protect the environment. He directed officials to gradually introduce electric vehicles (EVs) across all government departments, including rented vehicles used for official purposes. The Chief Minister also instructed municipalities to establish solar energy plants to promote renewable power generation and called for the installation of advanced multi-utility towers in urban areas to reduce radiation impact from mobile and communication infrastructure.
The Chief Minister further highlighted the importance of modern urban planning and instructed officials to strengthen sewage treatment, underground drainage and solid waste management systems across towns and cities. He said sewage treatment plants should be made mandatory in urban planning and suggested framing rules to ensure recycled water is used in construction activities. He also advised authorities to explore the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for better traffic management and urban administration.
As part of tourism and spiritual development, Revanth Reddy proposed the creation of special tourism corridors across Telangana. He directed officials to develop a Temple Corridor between Nalgonda and Yadagirigutta and to establish a major North Telangana Tourism Corridor connecting Adilabad, Nagoba Temple, Basara and the Kadem Project. Ahead of the upcoming Krishna Pushkaralu, he also instructed officials to comprehensively develop the Alampur Jogulamba Temple.
The Chief Minister further directed officials to treat all municipalities under the jurisdiction of Singareni Collieries Company Limited as a single unit for integrated development and clarified that CSR funds allocated to Singareni should be spent only on local municipal development. He also instructed authorities to prepare long-term plans to meet the water requirements of the upcoming Warangal airport and revealed that the proposed Adilabad airport would be developed under the Defence Ministry. Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the Warangal–Karimnagar–Khammam corridor would emerge as a major growth hub with the development of airports and large-scale infrastructure projects.
