As the Kerala Assembly elections approach, political activity in the state has intensified. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in an election campaign in Thiruvalla of Pathanamthitta district, where he made several key remarks. He stated that if his party comes to power, Kerala would witness development projects similar to those implemented in northeastern states.

During his address, Modi strongly criticized the Indian National Congress, accusing its leaders of spreading misleading claims regarding population control and its impact on parliamentary representation. He dismissed allegations that southern states would lose Lok Sabha seats due to delimitation, calling such arguments baseless and politically motivated.

Highlighting infrastructure development, the Prime Minister spoke about the Sabarimala railway project, stating that it would create new opportunities in the region. He emphasized that the project would boost local businesses and generate employment for youth. However, he alleged that the state government had neglected the project and failed to take it forward.

Modi further asserted that there would be no hurdles in implementing such key initiatives if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power in the state. The Kerala Assembly elections are scheduled for April 9, with vote counting set to take place on May 4.
